Carmen Bria has a wealth of experience in the field of pharmaceutical and analytical chemistry. Carmen is currently a Consultant at RMC Pharmaceutical Solutions and a Senior Scientist at Neva Analytics. Prior to that, they were a Senior Research Associate at Tolmar from 2020 to 2021, a Research Chemist 1 at PPG Industries from 2017 to 2020, a Postdoctoral Fellow and Research Assistant at Colorado School of Mines from 2011 to 2017, an Ion Chromatography Analyst at Accutest Laboratories from 2010 to 2011, and a Research Assistant at the University of Puget Sound from 2009 to 2010. At PPG Industries, they were the technical lead responsible for a high throughput HPLC/FFF lab and developed small molecule, particle size, and polymer separation techniques for raw materials, product development, and regulatory testing. At Colorado School of Mines, they improved preparative separations of lipoproteins in human plasma to enable LC-MS lipidomic analysis and collaborated with academic groups to characterize lipoproteins. At Accutest Laboratories, they analyzed wastewater samples by ion chromatography, total carbon and inorganic carbon analyzers, pH measurements, and other analytical methods. At the University of Puget Sound, they measured and analyzed emissions of over 400 small boats and ocean-going ships in Seattle, WA and Vancouver, B.C.
Carmen Bria completed their Bachelor of Science (BS) in Chemistry from the University of Puget Sound in 2010. Carmen then went on to earn their Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Applied Chemistry from the Colorado School of Mines in 2016.
