Brian Silvey joined Cargill in 1979 as a Los Angeles-based commodity trader. Over the next 13 years he worked in various risk management positions in California, Texas, Missouri, Oregon and corporate headquarters in Minneapolis. He was named President/General Manager of Cargill Rice Milling in Greenville, MS, in 1992. In 1998 he joined Cargill’s Corn Wet Milling business in Blair, Nebraska, taking on the General Manager role.
Currently a Vice President, he is responsible for managing Cargill’s North America ethanol, Industrial Starch, and fermentation activities. Throughout his career he has been active in numerous industry associations and community Boards.
A native of Lakewood, Calif., Silvey holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Harvard.
