Solomon A. Mekonnen has worked as a Scientist at Rise Therapeutics since June 2022. Prior to this, they were a Postdoctoral Researcher at the University of Maryland from September 2020 to May 2022. Furthermore, they served as a Postdoctoral Researcher at the University of California, Davis from November 2018 to August 2020.

Solomon A. Mekonnen completed a PhD in Medical Microbiology from Universität Greifswald, Germany from 2014 to 2019. Prior to that, they pursued a Master's degree in Medical & Pharmaceutical Drug Innovation from the University of Groningen, which they obtained from 2012 to 2014. In 2011 to 2012, Solomon also completed a Master's degree in Applied Genetics from Addis Ababa University.
