Leanne McGowan is an experienced leader in global esports and event management, currently serving as the Director of Global Esports Events at Riot Games since March 2023. Prior to this role, McGowan held several key positions at Electronic Arts from January 2018 to March 2023, including Experiential Development Lead and Director of Strategy & Operations for EA's Games Marketing, where responsibilities included developing branded entertainment experiences and overseeing event operations during the pandemic. McGowan's extensive background also includes serving as Head of Operations and Events at 1TwentyFour, where McGowan executive produced the well-known Nerd HQ event at San Diego Comic Con, and managing various event production roles across notable companies such as Marriott International and TheWrap. McGowan holds an MBA from UCLA Anderson School of Management and a BS in Film and Television from Boston University.
