Pekka Santasalo is a seasoned finance leader with extensive experience in corporate strategy, investment evaluation, and venture capital. Currently serving as the Head of Growth & Ventures and Head of Venture Capital at Rio Tinto since July 2016, Pekka has led a team of over 25 professionals and been instrumental in establishing the company's venture capital activities, overseeing several successful investments and strategic partnerships. Prior roles include General Manager of Strategy at Rio Tinto, where Pekka played a key role in corporate strategy design, and various positions in corporate development and equity research with companies like Nomura and Wood Mackenzie. Education includes a CFA Charterholder designation, an MSc in Finance and Investment from The University of Edinburgh, and a BA (Hons) in Management with Economics from Robert Gordon University.
