Lillian Wavering, PE, is a highly experienced engineer specializing in tailings and water management, currently serving as a Tailings & Water Engineer at Rio Tinto since July 2018. In this role, Lillian acts as the Responsible Dam Engineer for Resolution Copper tailings storage facilities, focusing on upgrading six historic facilities to meet Global Industry Standard on Tailings Management (GISTM) standards. Previous positions include Senior Dam Engineer, overseeing multiple water storage and tailings facilities, as well as roles as a Graduate Geotechnical Engineer and Graduate Tailings & Water Engineer, where Lillian contributed to geotechnical mapping and water balance modeling. Prior experience includes an internship with MWH, now part of Stantec, and civil engineering internship with the Bureau of Reclamation.
