Ben Sharpe is an accomplished professional in asset management and reliability, currently serving as Practice Lead Maintenance & Reliability at Rio Tinto since August 2011. Sharpe has held various key positions within the company, including Manager Asset Management for Tom Price, Marandoo, and Paraburdoo, as well as Principal roles in Asset Management and Mine Operational Readiness. In these capacities, Sharpe has focused on operational readiness for asset transitions and enhancing the reliability and performance of physical assets across multiple Rio Tinto Business Units. Prior to their tenure at Rio Tinto, Sharpe worked at Newcrest Mining as a Mechanical Reliability Specialist and Engineer, implementing asset management systems in Australian and overseas operations. Educationally, Sharpe holds a Master's degree in Business Administration from Brisbane Graduate School of Business and a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Wollongong.
