Alf Garnett is an experienced mining professional with a career spanning over two decades in various managerial and project management roles within the mining industry. Currently serving as Mine Manager and Project Manager for Mining Underground at Rio Tinto since July 2022, Alf previously held positions such as Area Manager Underground and Mine Manager Underground at the same company, as well as Project Manager at Underground Mining Alliance. Earlier experience includes senior roles at AngloGold Ashanti and Macmahon, where responsibilities encompassed overseeing operations, business development, and promoting safety culture. Alf's foundational experience was developed at BHPB, SBD Services, Newcrest Mining, and Brandrill, highlighting a comprehensive understanding of both underground and open-pit mining operations.
