Affonso Jr. Bizon is an accomplished executive with extensive experience in the aluminum industry, currently serving as the Integrated Operations General Manager for Aluminium Pacific at Rio Tinto since July 2019. In this role, Affonso oversees the Bauxite Operations Center in Brisbane and manages integrated operations across multiple facets such as asset management, supply chain, and production planning. Previous positions include General Manager for Kitimat Smelter at Rio Tinto, where operations involved more than 1,000 employees and an output of over 420kt/year. Prior to this, Affonso held various leadership roles at Alcoa, including Mining General Manager and Managing Director, and has a robust background in overseeing complex operational processes and P&L management. Affonso holds an MBA in Accounting and Finance and an MBA in Business Management, complemented by an Engineering degree in Electrical and Electrotechnics.
