Marcus Brauchli was executive editor of the Washington Post from September 2008 to December 2012 and was the top editor at The Wall Street Journal, where he spent 24 years as a correspondent and editor in Asia, Europe, and the U.S. Now a media investor and advisor, Marcus is the co-founder and managing partner of North Base Media.

He is a graduate of Columbia University, a 1992 Nieman Fellow at Harvard University, a member of the Council on Foreign Relations and the Washington Economic Club, and a trustee of the Hirshhorn Museum and Sculpture Garden. He has been a consultant to Graham Holdings, Univision, Hindustan Times, and Rzeczpospolita, and is an advisor or director of Piano Software Inc., Nameless Network, The News Lens, and Data.
