Megan Timme was elected to the RISD board in May 2021.
She is a former teacher, principal, and administrator in the district, and her RISD roots run deep. She is a graduate of Richardson High School, and her father, Jerry Bishop, was a football coach and administrator in the district for more than 35 years, retiring after a stint as assistant superintendent. Megan’s mother, Marny Bishop, spent her entire educational career in RISD, including as an English teacher and librarian at Lake Highlands Junior High and Westwood Junior High.
Megan has served on the RISD improvement planning committee, the campus improvement planning committee, and the finance and bond committees. She has been a member of various PTAs across the district and currently works for Region 10 Educational Service Center as Director of Administrative Services. Megan works closely with North Texas school districts and principals and has assisted the Texas Education Agency with the teacher and principal evaluation system and the student growth application.
Megan and her husband, Matt, have three children. Sons Drew, Class of 2019, and Walker, Class of 2021, graduated from Pearce High School, where daughter Kendall is a freshman in 2021-22.
In their free time, you will generally find Matt and Megan at sporting events watching their kids, listening to live music, and supporting local businesses in the RISD area.
