Tao Ni has work experience as a Mechanical Engineer at Richards Manufacturing Company from June 2013 to the present. Prior to that, they worked as a Research Assistant and Research Engineer at Stony Brook University from January 2010 to August 2011. Their responsibilities included simulation and verification engineering, simplifying complex building structures using modal analysis, optimizing tuned mass damper systems, designing passive TMDs for vibration reduction, and energy harvesting using Inventor.

Tao Ni attended Northport High School, although the duration of their education there is unknown. Following their high school education, they enrolled at Stony Brook University from 2004 to 2008, where they obtained a Bachelor of Engineering degree in Mechanical Engineering. Tao further pursued their studies at Stony Brook University from 2009 to 2011, graduating with a Master of Engineering degree in the same field.
