Rob Woods has a strong background in software development and design. Rob has extensive experience in various roles and industries. From 1998 to 2006, Rob worked as a Software Designer at Nortel, followed by a position as a Senior Software Designer at Alcatel-Lucent from 2007 to 2010. During their time at Alcatel-Lucent, they worked on designing software solutions.
In 2010, Rob joined Kalamonster Networks as a Java Application Developer, where they developed a custom RSS feed reader for the Google Android platform. Rob also worked on a personal project, developing a Java application called NZBMobile that interfaces binary usenet indexing services with back-end binary usenet processing daemons.
From 2010 to 2016, Rob worked at Macadamian Technologies as a Software Developer. In this role, they led development and architecture on various projects involving platforms such as Android, BB10, web, and technologies including Java, C++, Javascript, Angular, Knockout, jQuery, and node.js. Rob worked closely with clients to gather requirements and plan product design and implementation strategies.
Since 2016, Rob has been employed as a Senior Software Developer at Ribbon Communications. In this role, they serve as the development lead on Spidr clients under Unified Communications. Rob collaborates with local and remote teams to align architecture of Spidr clients and enhance the development process. Rob primarily utilizes Javascript in this role.
Rob Woods attended Dalhousie University from 1992 to 1998, where they received a Bachelor of Computer Science degree with a specialization in Software Design. In 1997, they briefly studied at Carleton University, but it is unclear if they completed a degree or had a specific field of study during that time. In 1995, they also briefly studied Computer Science at Saint Mary's University, and from 1992 to 1995, they pursued Computer Science at Mount St. Vincent University.
