Amina Ismail is a Senior Correspondent for Reuters News Agency, with extensive experience reporting on critical issues in the Middle East, particularly in Iraq and Egypt. Based between Baghdad and Erbil since February 2016, Amina has covered a wide array of topics including politics, energy, climate change, human rights, and security, while also investigating the dynamics between Kurdish political factions. Prior to this role, Amina led significant investigations into post-revolutionary Egypt, exposing human rights abuses and government authoritarianism during a tenure with The New York Times and other prominent news organizations. Amina holds a Master’s Degree in Video Journalism from Northwestern University and a Bachelor’s Degree in Mass Communication from Modern Sciences and Arts University.
