Neil Merrett is an experienced journalist and editor with a focus on the heating, cooling, and public sector IT industries. Currently serving as Editor at emap, Neil manages two leading industry publications, overseeing content that addresses significant challenges in the post-Grenfell context and the push for decarbonisation. Previously, Neil worked as a Reporter at GlobalData Technology, examining the complexities of public sector IT reform in the UK. A background in freelance journalism includes contributions to notable outlets such as Reuters and The Independent. Prior roles include Deputy Editor at Minivan News, where Neil played a vital role in independent reporting during a turbulent political period in the Maldives, alongside various positions in writing, editing, and other roles within the service industry throughout early career years. Neil holds a BA (Hons) in Journalism from Solent University.
