William Peterson is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in watershed management and natural resource conservation. Currently serving as Watershed Manager at Reston Association since January 2015, William oversees the management of the organization's lakes, ponds, streams, and watersheds, focusing on water quality and erosion control. Previously, William held roles as a Watershed Specialist and intern at Reston Association, as well as a Naturalist/Interpreter for Missouri State Parks. William’s background also includes military service as a Quartermaster Officer in the U.S. Army Reserves and experience in law enforcement as a Police Detective and Deputy Sheriff. William holds a Master of Science in Park and Resource Management from Slippery Rock University and a Bachelor of Science in Forest Resources Management from the University of Minnesota.
