Shawn Townsend has a background in journalism and mass communications from New Mexico State University. Shawn has held various roles within the District of Columbia government, including Director of Nightlife & Culture, as well as positions within the Alcoholic Beverage Regulation Administration and D.C. Office of Complaints. Shawn also worked at Dewey Square Group as a Principal before becoming the President of the Restaurant Association Metropolitan Washington in February 2023. Throughout their career, Shawn has demonstrated expertise in public-private partnerships, regulatory inspections, and managing teams within the enforcement division.
