Daniel Burnett is a life science investor and entrepreneur with extensive experience in founding and leading innovative medical technology companies. They were the founder and Chief Technology Officer at BAROnova from 2005 to 2008 and a General Partner at MedVenture Associates from 2003 to 2005. Currently, as the founder and CEO of Theranova, LLC, they lead a medical device incubator that has successfully spun out multiple venture-backed companies and raised over $100 million. Additionally, Burnett holds the position of Adjunct Assistant Professor at the University of California, San Francisco, where they serve as Industry Director for the Masters of Translational Medicine Program. Their educational background includes an MD and MBA from Duke University, as well as a BSE in bioengineering from the University of Pennsylvania.
