Rohan Irvin

Senior Reservoir and Completions Engineer at ResFrac Corporation

Rohan Irvin has a diverse and extensive work experience in the petroleum industry. Rohan is currently working as a Senior Reservoir and Completions Engineer at ResFrac Corporation since May 2020.

Prior to this, Rohan was the Co-founder and Technical Director at EnergyCapture, where they led the technical engineering evaluation of a large unconventional natural gas resource and planned its development in line with zero carbon emissions technology. Rohan held this position from October 2018 to August 2022.

Alongside their role at EnergyCapture, Rohan also co-founded EnergyPathways in October 2018, where they served as the Subsurface Engineering Manager until November 2021.

Before their entrepreneurial ventures, Rohan worked as a Reservoir Engineer at FAR Limited. Rohan was involved in the greenfield appraisal of offshore oil fields in Senegal, West Africa. Rohan also played a key role in well planning activities and decision-making processes using multidisciplinary approaches. Their tenure at FAR Limited lasted from December 2014 to June 2021.

Rohan gained further experience as a Reservoir Engineering Consultant at Exigo Inc., where they managed a team of specialists and geoscientists. Their responsibilities included providing reservoir engineering expertise to various clients operating onshore and offshore assets across different regions, such as the Permian basin, Cambay Basin (India), and West Africa. Rohan worked at Exigo Inc. from July 2013 to June 2021.

Rohan also served as a Consultant Reservoir Engineer at Sheridan Production Company from November 2013 to July 2016. In this role, Rohan managed base production of oil and gas reservoirs and provided technical support for reserves-based lending.

Rohan's earlier experience includes working as a Reservoir Engineering Advisor at Oxy in Qatar, a Principal Engineer at Oilex Australia, and a Reservoir Management Team Lead at Oxy, where they were responsible for the development and management of Oxy's assets in the Permian Basin. Rohan also took on various reservoir engineering roles involving production forecasting, economic analysis, and reservoir management.

Rohan began their career as a Petroleum Engineer at Woodside Energy, where they focused on reservoir engineering and dynamic modeling. This experience led him to work on the Enfield and Stybarrow Development Team.

Throughout their career, Rohan has demonstrated a strong technical understanding of reservoir engineering, multidisciplinary decision-making, and a commitment to promoting sustainable and low-carbon solutions within the energy industry.

Rohan Irvin has pursued advanced education in the field of engineering. Rohan has completed a Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) degree in Oil and Gas Engineering from The University of Western Australia. Additionally, Rohan has acquired a Master of Science degree in Petroleum Engineering from the University of Southern California. Rohan also participated in a semester-long exchange program at The University of British Columbia, where they studied various engineering disciplines.
