Jake Shore is a skilled journalist with a diverse background in public safety reporting and news writing. Currently a reporter for The Current GA since May 2022, Jake covers police, courts, and criminal justice issues in Coastal Georgia as part of the Report For America corps. Previously, Jake served as a senior writer for McClatchy, focusing on breaking news and crime in South Carolina's Lowcountry from March 2020 to May 2022. Additional experience includes roles as a production assistant and writer at Cheddar Inc., freelance journalist at Gotham Gazette and Gothamist.com, and various positions in public radio and news internship programs. Jake holds a Bachelor's degree in Political Science from Fordham University, attended Loyola High School, and has developed a strong foundation in reporting and multimedia journalism throughout a progressive career.
