Norbert Friant possesses extensive experience in digital services and urban planning, currently serving as the Responsable du Service Numérique at Rennes Ville et Métropole since October 2015. Responsibilities include overseeing the deployment of fiber optics, managing a public network, and facilitating discussions on 5G technology. As a Co-founder of LabFab Rennes and a Référent regional for the Réseau Français des FabLabs, Norbert has actively promoted prototyping techniques and digital transformation. Additionally, extensive teaching roles at various institutions, including the Conservatoire National des Arts et Métiers and the Université de Rennes 1, highlight expertise in data, innovation, and digital strategies. Previous experience includes serving as an independent technical expert for the European Commission and foundational roles in digital services development at Rennes Métropole. Educational qualifications include an engineering degree from ENIB and a diploma in territorial engineering from CNFPT, alongside specialized training in digital fabrication and IoT.
