Sjaak Lemmens PhD has a diverse work experience in the field of environmental management and offshore wind. Sjaak currently holds the position of Offshore Development Project Manager at RES, where they utilize their expertise in identifying innovative solutions to reduce risk and cost in offshore wind projects. Prior to this, they worked as an Environment/Regulatory Advisor and Principal Environmental Specialist at ExxonMobil, providing environmental advice, securing approvals, and ensuring compliance with regulations for offshore oil and gas activities. Sjaak also served as a Committee Member at the Environment Institute of Australia and New Zealand, contributing to environmental initiatives in Victoria. Additionally, they worked as a Marine & Coastal Environmental Management professional at WSP in Australia, where they specialized in energy and offshore wind projects. Sjaak's career includes extensive experience at the Enigmatic Group Pty Ltd, where they provided environmental support and management for various marine operations, including offshore wind and oil and gas projects. Sjaak has also worked as an Environmental Coordinator at Saipem, overseeing environmental aspects of pipeline installation projects. Prior to these roles, Sjaak founded and led Vanguard Enviro Pty Ltd, providing HSE support and advice to the resources industry. Sjaak began their career as a Research Scientist at CSIRO. Throughout their career, Sjaak has demonstrated a strong commitment to environmental protection and sustainable development.

Sjaak Lemmens PhD has a strong educational background in the field of marine sciences. Sjaak achieved a Master of Science degree in Marine Biology from Radboud University during the period of 1978 to 1987. In addition, they pursued an Honours degree in Marine Sciences at James Cook University from 1985 to 1986.

Later on, Sjaak Lemmens accomplished their highest level of education by obtaining a PhD in Marine Sciences from The University of Western Australia. This achievement took place between 1991 and 1993.
