Dr Osaru Agbonaye has a diverse work experience that spans across multiple roles and industries. Starting in 2011, they worked as a Technical Operator Intern at Nigerian Bottling Company PLC, where they operated and maintained various machines in the production department. They also gained experience in reprogramming Siemens S7 PLC.

In 2011, Dr Agbonaye also worked as an Electrical Engineering Intern at Power Holding Company of Nigeria.

In 2013, Dr Agbonaye became a Laboratory Technologist at Akanu Ibiam Federal Polytechnic Unwana, where they gained experience in laboratory management.

From 2013 to 2014, they served as the Chief Technology Officer at Frii Tech Ltd, where they were responsible for overseeing the company's technological operations.

In 2014, Dr Agbonaye founded SARU TECH, where they worked as a Founder and Senior Software Engineer. They were involved in various software development and management projects, including UI/UX design, lead development, database systems, automated testing, DevOps, and release management.

During the same period, Dr Agbonaye also worked as a Renewable Energy Consultant at Water Stone Energy.

From 2014 to 2018, Dr Agbonaye served as a Lecturer in Electrical Power & Machines at the University of Benin. They were responsible for teaching various subjects, conducting lab sessions, and supervising final-year projects.

In 2018, Dr Agbonaye joined Ulster University as a Doctoral Researcher, focusing on energy storage and demand flexibility. They developed an interactive Whole Energy System Model for assessing demand flexibility needs and system adequacy. This tool played a crucial role in the development of a new Energy Strategy for Northern Ireland.

From 2021 to 2022, Dr Agbonaye worked as a Postdoctoral Researcher at the University of Reading, specializing in energy flexibility demand modelling. They utilized machine learning and clustering algorithms to analyze energy demand patterns and evaluated cluster performance and similarity measures.

Currently, Dr Agbonaye is employed at RES as a Product Manager, specifically managing GEM Strategy Tools. Their work in this role started in September 2022.

Dr Osaru Agbonaye has a strong educational background in the field of engineering and computing. In 2018, they pursued a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree at Ulster University, specializing in Computing, Engineering & Built Environment. Dr Osaru completed their doctoral studies in 2021. Prior to that, in 2015-2016, Dr Agbonaye obtained a Master of Science (MSc) degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from the University of Glasgow. Their undergraduate education took place from 2008 to 2012 at the University of Benin, where they earned a Bachelor of Engineering (B.Eng.) degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering.

In addition to their formal education, Dr Agbonaye has acquired several certifications. In April 2014, they completed the "Youth Enterprise with Innovation in Nigeria" program offered by the Enterprise Development Centre at Pan-Atlantic University. In May 2013, they obtained a certification in Health Safety and Environment (HSE) from the Institute of Safety Professionals of Nigeria (ISPON). Continuing their professional development, in October 2016, they became a Corporate Member of the Nigerian Society of Engineers.

Dr Agbonaye has also achieved professional recognition, obtaining the status of Registered Engineer (Chartered Equivalent) from The Council for the Regulation of Engineering in Nigeria (COREN) in July 2018. In October 2018, they became a Member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineering. Subsequently, in September 2020, they obtained the status of Associate Fellow of the Higher Education Academy from the Higher Education Academy.

To enhance their technical skills, Dr Agbonaye completed the "CRUD Application with Ionic 3 and Firebase" course offered by Udemy in September 2017. Additionally, in April 2022, they obtained the certification of Certified SAFe 5 Product Owner/Product Manager from Scaled Agile, Inc.
