Principle Technical Consultant/technical Manager at Renewable Energy Systems

Amolak Hunjan has a diverse range of work experience in the renewable energy industry. Amolak started their career at BP Solar Ltd in 1995, where they worked as a Systems Engineer and was responsible for providing engineering support for PV systems. Amolak was involved in projects across Africa, Asia, and Northern Europe, including designing PV systems for BP retail service stations and setting up engineering design offices in Madrid, Spain, and Bangalore, India. Amolak also played a role in the national students renewable awareness program.

In 1999, Amolak became a PV Technical & Production Manager at BP Solar Ltd, where they oversaw a specialist production facility for PV panels. Their responsibilities included staff recruitment, product design, materials evaluation, and implementing delivery projects for the Euclides project and G/G PV louvers.

After leaving BP Solar Ltd in 2000, Amolak joined EETS/PV Systems Ltd as the Director & BIPV Manager. Amolak held this position for seven years and was responsible for managing the London office. Their duties included new business development, coordinating site surveys, preparing proposals and detailed designs, and managing and delivering projects for domestic and commercial clients. Amolak was also in charge of Operations & Maintenance contracts.

In 2007, Amolak joined RES Group as the Principle Technical Consultant/Technical Manager. In this role, they took on an "Owners Engineering" role for a 3.5MWp PV Farm project, conducting due diligence on contractors' scope of supply, overseeing H&S records, monitoring site construction progress, ensuring technical compliance, managing payment schedules, and witnessing testing commissioning procedures and results. Amolak also provided commercial and technical support for a 7.

Amolak Hunjan began their education in 1980 at Kingston University, where they earned a BSc (Hons) degree in Mechanical & Production Engineering. From 1997 to 1998, they attended The Training & Business Factory, where they obtained NVQ Levels 3 & 4 in Business Management. In 1998, they enrolled at The Open University and completed a module called T265, focusing on Renewable Energy in 1999.
