Kevin Stephens has extensive work experience in the field of software engineering. Kevin started their career at TerraNet as a Network Administrator, where they developed a ticket system using Perl and MSQL. Kevin then worked at CenterMedia as a Director of Technology, where they focused on programming using Perl, DBI, PHP, PostgreSQL, and JavaScript for various customer sites. Kevin then joined ITA Software as a Senior Systems Admin, where they played a crucial role in growing the company from 50 to over 400 Redhat Linux machines. Kevin designed and built a scalable and secure network and developed monitoring tools using Perl and SNMP.
Next, Kevin worked at CNET as a Senior System Administrator, managing systems, software installation, and MySQL databases. Kevin also developed Perl/PHP tools for administration and monitoring. After that, they joined Endurance International Group as a Senior Programmer and contributed to the development of customer tools and backend systems. Kevin created new methodologies and tools for the migration of customer data, resulting in faster and more efficient migrations.
Kevin then took on the role of Director of Software Engineering at Omni Ventures, where they oversaw multiple software projects, managed programmers and support staff, and assisted with system and network design. Following this, they became the CTO at MobyMax. In this role, Kevin collaborated closely with the Product/Design team, planned and implemented new features in PHP, JavaScript/React, MySQL, and other technologies, and ensured the smooth running of the development process.
More recently, Kevin worked as a Software Architect at Locafy, focusing on full-stack development and designing and implementing AWS environments using Cloudformation and Ansible. Currently, Kevin is the Director of Engineering for the eduClimber API at Renaissance Learning, where they are responsible for developing innovative solutions for K-12 school districts.
In addition to these roles, Kevin also worked as an Independent Consultant for a brief period. Overall, Kevin Stephens has a diverse and comprehensive background in software engineering and has demonstrated expertise in various programming languages, technologies, and management roles.
Kevin Stephens received their Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Cinematography and Film/Video Production from The University of Kansas in the years 1991 to 1995.
