Julie Vaughan is a legal professional with extensive experience in environmental law and health and safety regulation. Currently serving as Counsel at Reed Smith LLP since April 2023, Julie advises corporate clients on compliance and EHS liability risks. Prior to this role, Julie worked as a Senior Associate in the Environment Group at Herbert Smith Freehills LLP from February 2006 to April 2023. Julie also gained valuable experience as a Legal Advisor on secondment to BP's HSSE Legal team, focusing on risk management and policy development. Earlier career positions include serving as an Attorney at Latham & Watkins, where Julie played a crucial role in establishing professional support functions, and as a Trainee and Assistant Solicitor at Allen & Overy, specializing in insolvency law. Julie holds an LLM in International Environmental and Natural Resources Law from University College London and an LLB in Law from the University of Nottingham.
