Nikita Royal

Supporter Engagement Team Member at Redwings Horse Sanctuary

Nikita had always wanted to work with rescued horses from a young age and she remember at the age of 13 dropping a letter off through the Hapton Hall door (Redwings HQ) asking if she could do work experience but she was too young at the time. Nikita started at Redwings back in 2012 as an Equine Centre Team Member, then became Team Leader and had the utmost privilege of looking after all the equines at the Piggots and Newton (private) farms.

A new chapter has begun for me more recently in the Supporter Engagement Team and even though she am still finding her feet in her role she am really looking forward to being part of the amazing team that helps bring in the donations that go towards all the hard work and care that everyone provides for the equines, as well as being able to talk to the supporters who are passionate about horse welfare.

She have so many amazing and funny memories over the years with the horses, but she have to say the ones that stick in her mind the most are seeing the horses come in straight from a rescue to start their journey with us and then seeing and being a part of them going on to lead happy and natural lives out on the farm with their herds or even seeing them go on to be in a home. Plus, being able to teach a nervous little foal that a shelter is a safe place to eat their feed is SO rewarding. Nikita have no doubt she'll be making new memories in her new role too!
