Herpreet Kaur Grewal has a diverse work experience in journalism. Herpreet Kaur started their career at The Times as a Reporter/Researcher in 2001 and later worked as a Freelance Writer for various publications including The Guardian, The Observer, and The Daily Express. Herpreet Kaur also worked as a Senior Reporter/Section Editor at Haymarket Publishing from 2004 to 2009. In 2009, they pursued an Advanced Masters in Journalism at Columbia University Graduate School of Journalism. Herpreet Kaur then worked as a Freelance Journalist until 2014, during which they also served as a News Editor at Redactive and an Editorial Board Member at Sikh Feminist Research Institute.

Herpreet Kaur Grewal earned a Master's degree from Columbia University between 2009 and 2010. Prior to that, they attended Brunel University London where they obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in American/United States Studies/Civilization. Additionally, they pursued a Postgraduate Degree in newspaper journalism on a Scott Trust Bursary at City, University of London.
