Amy Beveridge has a diverse range of work experience in the media industry. Amy started their career as a Trainee Reporter at The Press and Journal, where they gained experience in researching and writing news stories, conducting interviews, and using publishing platforms. Amy then joined the Stirling Observer as a Contributor, where they contributed articles to a newspaper pullout guide for freshers.
Amy later joined Brig Newspaper and held various roles, including Writer, Comment Editor, Head of Proofreading, and Deputy Editor. Amy was responsible for editing and proofreading articles, coordinating sections of the newspaper, and implementing an improved online sub-editing system. Amy also created a comprehensive style guide for the newspaper.
Amy then worked as a PR and Social Media Intern at Hot Tin Roof PR, where they gained experience in writing press releases, blog posts, and social media content. Amy also assisted with photoshoots, attended events, and performed administrative tasks.
Amy continued their career as a Senior Sub-editor at The Evening Express, where they were involved in editing and proofreading print copy, writing headlines and captions, and designing pages using InDesign. Amy also worked as a sub-editor at The Drum, where they edited and proofread marketing industry news, wrote headlines and captions, and managed the website's backend.
Currently, Amy holds the position of Content Sub-editor at Redactive Media Group. Their responsibilities include editing and proofreading copy for various membership organization magazines, writing headlines and captions, adapting copy to style guides, and working with clients to finalize publications.
Amy Beveridge attended Stewarton Academy from 2008 to 2014, but did not receive a degree or study a specific field during this time. Amy then went on to the University of Stirling from 2014 to 2018, where they received a Bachelor of Arts (Hons) degree in Journalism Studies.
