Matthew Simmons has worked in various roles within the maritime and retail industries. Matthew started as a Sales Assistant at Cotswold Outdoor and Berghaus Ltd before transitioning to a career at sea. Matthew has experience as a Merchant Navy Deck Cadet with EVERGREEN LINE and has held Chief Officer positions at Wightlink Isle of Wight Ferries LTD and Red Funnel Group. At Red Funnel Group, Matthew currently serves as a Master and Chief Officer, overseeing the deck department, crew training, and cargo operations on car ferries and high-speed passenger services. Matthew holds a Foundation degree in Maritime Studies from Warsash Maritime Academy and a Bachelor's Degree in Archaeology from the University of Bristol.
