Bernard Liang is a seasoned venture metageneralist and investor with a diverse background in technology and finance. Currently active as a Venture Metageneralist at Independent since January 2021, Bernard focuses on addressing cross-functional challenges in the venture ecosystem. As a Fellow and Investor at On Deck, involvement spans various initiatives including No Code, Community Builders, and Angels. Co-founder and former CTO at Doorstead, a technology-operations company since July 2019, Bernard has transitioned away from active roles there. Additional ventures include serving as an Investor and Advisor at Anomaly to advance security in the crypto/web3 sector and holding limited partner positions across multiple funds and ventures. Bernard holds a BA in Computer Science and Mathematics from the University of California, Berkeley, obtained in 2008.
