Omri Ackley is a Software Engineer at Propel, Inc. since May 2023 and a Recurser at Recurse Center since January 2023. Prior experience includes roles as Principal Software Engineer, Lead Web Developer, and Senior Software Engineer at Newsela from September 2019 to January 2023, where Omri managed platform development across multiple teams and implemented significant accessibility improvements. From September 2014 to February 2019, Omri served as a Senior Instructor at both Fullstack Academy and The Grace Hopper Program, developing curriculum and supporting numerous student projects. Additional experience includes freelance web development, emergency medical services as an EMT, research in evolutionary computation, and algorithm development for educational tools. Omri earned a Bachelor of Arts in Biology and Technology from Hampshire College.
