Louise Hughes currently serves as Chief Operating Officer and General Counsel at The Really Useful Group Ltd since October 2024, while simultaneously holding the position of Trustee at the Cleft Lip and Palate Association (CLAPA) since June 2021. Louise has also been a Founding Member of Chief since February 2023, a network aimed at advancing women into leadership roles. Previously, Louise held the role of Group General Counsel at The Blair Partnership and Pottermore from January 2017 to October 2024, providing strategic legal support and advising on various aspects of commercial and intellectual property law. Earlier experience includes positions as Senior Legal Counsel at The Blair Partnership/Pottermore, In House Counsel at LOD, Contracts Director and Senior Lawyer at Penguin Random House UK, as well as a lawyer at the Financial Times and Wragge & Co LLP. Louise earned both an LPC and an LLB in Law from the University of Sheffield.
