Earl Hoeg is the Executive Director of National Real Property Management (NRPM) with Employment and Social Development Canada (ESDC) (or as Earl prefers to be called, ESDC’s Chief Real Property Evangelist). Earl is responsible for all aspects of the management and delivery of the National Real Property Portfolio for all Service Canada Centres, Passport Offices, and ESDC’s office space across Canada. In this position, Earl is responsible for leading ESDC’s workplace modernization efforts for ESDC’s 37,000 employees spread across more than 425 sites and 600,000 m2 of space across Canada. ESDC is working aggressively to implement Activity Based Working and the Government of Canada’s GCWorkplace vision to provide the best space possible to respond to the future of work and support for a hybrid workplace to help ESDC attract and retain the talent they need to better serve Canadians.
Prior to this role, Earl held various positions in real property with ESDC and Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA). Earl has been a public servant for 32 years and held other leadership positions with the Canada School of Public Service and Industry Canada.
Earl has a Master of Business Administration (MBA), from Queen’s University, a Certificate in Business Administration from the University of Ottawa, and an Electronic Engineering Technology Diploma, from the Nova Scotia Institute of Technology. Earl is a trained media spokesperson and has been a speaker at international wireless conferences, leadership events, and real property forums.
