Steven Guttentag is the CEO of Reading Plus. Steven was previously the Executive In Residence at Sterling Partners from January 2019 to May 2019.
Sterling Partners is a private equity firm that launched its eighth investment fund, the Education Opportunity Fund (EOF), in April 2015. The Education Opportunity Fund’s objective is to invest in purpose-driven companies and partner with high-performing leaders that are taking an innovative approach to transforming the education landscape, advancing opportunities for learners (students and employees), and driving new revenue streams and enabling efficiencies for institutions (schools and employers). The Education Opportunity Fund will target investments where it can invest between $10M and $35M of equity capital in growth-stage, technology-relevant businesses; and can participate in minority or control transactions.

Steven Guttentag received their Masters in Teaching and Curriculum from Harvard Graduate School of Education. Steven then went on to get their Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Education Policy and Administration from University of Pennsylvania. Before that, they obtained their Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy from University of Michigan. Steven also has a High School Diploma from Sidwell Friends School.
