Jamie Wakefield is a Senior Aerothermal Engineer at Reaction Engines, where responsibilities include serving as the aerothermal lead and test director for the hypersonic engine ground testing campaign within the Hypersonic Vehicle eXperiment (HVX) project, a collaboration with Rolls-Royce for the RAF. Wakefield has progressed through various roles at Reaction Engines, beginning as a Graduate Engineer and advancing to team lead, mentoring a graduate engineer and overseeing the hypersonic intake subsystem. Previous experience includes a research internship at the University of Bristol, focusing on stability modeling for Tiltrotor aircraft, and an industrial placement at Cobham Composites Limited, where work involved developing a Liquid Resin Infusion process. Wakefield holds a Master of Engineering in Aerospace, Aeronautical and Astronautical Engineering from the University of Bristol.
