Kate Mcfarland is a Diamond Expert at Rare Carat. Kate has over ten years of experience in the diamond industry. Kate began their career as a Staff Gemologist / Diamond Grader at GIA. After a year at GIA, they took a position as a Fine Jewelry Salon at Saks Fifth Avenue. After two years, they were promoted to Purchasing Department Manager at Star Diamond Wholesale. In this role, they traveled to diamond mines and purchased diamonds for the company. After five years, they left Star Diamond Wholesale to become a Gemologist & Diamond Consultant. In this role, they traveled around the country buying, selling, and appraising diamonds. In 2020, they joined Rare Carat as a Diamond Expert.

Kate Mcfarland has a Bachelor of Fine Arts from Illinois State University and is a Graduate Gemologist from the Gemological Institute of America. Kate also has certifications from Tony Robbins Mastery University in Business Mastery and from the Federal Aviation Administration in Private Pilot Permit.
