Compliance Officer/MLRO at Raison

Aray Ospanova has a diverse work experience spanning multiple industries. Aray started their career at Food Contract Corporation JSC in 2011, where they served as a Personal Assistant to the Chief Executive Officer. In this role, they provided comprehensive assistance to the chairman, including organizing activities, business trips, and negotiations with foreign partners. Aray also supported the Business Development Department with written translations.

In 2014, Aray joined DARYN Partners as a Project Manager, responsible for managing various projects until 2017.

In 2017, Aray joined the Astana International Financial Centre (AIFC), where they held multiple roles. Aray initially served as a Human Resources Manager, responsible for HR administration and developing HR policies. Aray also developed the template Contract of Employment in accordance with AIFC regulations.

Aray then took on the role of Senior Human Resources Manager at AIFC, where they were responsible for all aspects of HR administration and corporate decisions on HR matters.

In 2019, Aray was promoted to the Head of HR Division at AIFC, where they managed HR division activities, developed HR policies and procedures, and engaged with senior management on HR governance and communication issues. Aray also drafted amendments in the AIFC Employment Regulations and successfully ensured their approval.

Later, Aray became the Head of Internal Policy Division at AIFC, where they established the internal policy framework. Aray communicated with all structural units to identify the validity of existing policies and develop new ones. Aray created a taxonomy and a database of all internal policies for easy reference by employees and new hires.

Aray then moved to the Central Securities Depository (KCSD) in 2022, where they served as a Senior Manager in Strategy and Development. Aray was responsible for drafting the Sustainable Development Policy in accordance with ESG standards and engaged in the KYC-related project. Aray also drafted the Information Disclosure Policy.

In 2022, Aray joined Raison as a Compliance Officer/MLRO, and in 2023, they became a member of the Compliance Hub Community.

Throughout their career, Aray has demonstrated strong skills in compliance, HR management, project management, and policy development.

Aray Ospanova's education history begins with their obtaining a Bachelor's degree in Economics from L.N.Gumilyov Eurasian National University, which they attended from 2003 to 2007. In 2020, they attended the Moscow School of Management SKOLKOVO, where they studied Strategic Leadership for a brief period.

In addition to their formal education, Aray Ospanova has also acquired several certifications. In 2015, they completed a certification in Oil and Gas Business from "Samruk-Kazyna" Corporate University. In 2018, they gained expertise in Writing HR policies and procedures through a certification from BMC Training. The same year, they also received a certification in Introduction to the English Common Law from AIFC Court and International Arbitration Centre. Aray further enhanced their skills in 2020 by completing a Training of Trainer program from the Institute of Business Ethics. In 2022, they acquired certifications in various fields, including "AML/CFT/Compliance" from AIFC Academy of Law, "ESG: concept, risks and strategy" from EY Academy of Business, and "Противодействие легализации (отмыванию) доходов и финансированию терроризма" from Zerde Educational Centre. Lastly, in 2021, they attained a certification in Editing Mastery: How to Edit Writing to Perfection from LinkedIn.
