Nikia Brown possesses extensive experience in development and communications within various nonprofit organizations. Currently serving at Raising A Reader since May 2022, previous roles include Manager of Development and Communications at Teach For America and Site Director and Development and Communications Officer at YWCA of the City of New York. Additional experience includes positions at PNP Staffing Group, The White House as a Scheduling and Advance Intern, Planned Parenthood Federation of America as a Fellow, and as a Legislative Assistant with the New York State Assembly. Nikia holds a Master of Public Administration from Buffalo State University, focusing on Nonprofit and International Management, along with a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology and Psychology from the University at Albany. Further qualifications include a certification in Teaching English as a Foreign Language from the International TEFL Academy and an Associate of Arts from Kingsborough Community College.
