Shakiya M. is an experienced professional currently serving as the Research and Database Coordinator at Rainplan since July 2023. With a background as a Junior Architect at SOMO Designs LLC since May 2008, Shakiya also contributes to the City of Shawnee, OK Government on the Transit Design & Logistics Committee and holds fellowships and board memberships related to urban development and community engagement. As the Founder and Podcast Host of THE POWERS OF HER, Shakiya has made significant contributions as an author and creator across multiple platforms. Additionally, Shakiya is the Founder and CEO of both THE INTERN COLLECTIVE and Resilient Heroes Sustainable Action (RHSA) Charity, highlighting a commitment to sustainability and social innovation. Educational accomplishments include a Bachelor of Arts in Sustainability and International Development from Arizona State University and a degree in Interior Design from The Art Institutes.
