Kenny Freer

Kenny Freer has extensive work experience in the field of civil engineering and project management. Kenny has held various roles and positions throughout their career.

Freer started their career in 1991 with the Alabama Department of Transportation (DOT) as a Graduate Civil Engineer. Kenny worked in the Design Bureau before transferring to the Construction department.

After their time at the Alabama DOT, Freer worked for the City of Fort Payne, AL as the City Engineer and Public Works Director. Kenny managed multiple departments and oversaw various projects, including maintenance, roadways, bridges, and inspections.

Freer then served as the County Engineer for the DeKalb County, AL Commission, where they administered and supervised state and federally funded projects, particularly related to bridges and roadways.

Next, Freer joined KHAFRA Engineering Consultants, Inc. as the Civil Department Manager. In this role, they managed civil engineers across multiple offices, overseeing projects in transportation, construction management, and other civil-related fields.

From 2011 to 2014, Freer worked at ARCADIS as a Senior Construction Manager. Kenny served as the Project Manager for government road and bridge projects and led a team of field inspectors.

Since 2014, Freer has been with RaganSmith, starting as a CEI Manager. Kenny subsequently held roles such as Vice President, Chattanooga Branch Manager, and Principal Associate. Currently, they are the Vice President and Principal Associate, as well as the Practice Leader for the CEI division.
