Charlie Gero is an accomplished technology leader with extensive experience in the field of software engineering and research and development. Currently serving as CTO at Akamai Technologies since February 2007, Charlie Gero leads the development of innovative solutions in Enterprise and Cloud Networking with a focus on performance, access, and security. Prior roles include Advisor at Rafay Systems, co-founder and Senior Principal Lead of Research and Development at Akamai Labs, and various engineering positions at Akamai that contributed to foundational software systems. Additional experience includes senior software engineering roles at Merck & Co., Inc. and eNovation Creations LLC, where Charlie Gero was also a founder and CTO. Academic credentials include a BS in Computer Science and a BS in Physics from Moravian University.
