Hooman Askary is a seasoned journalist and senior social media producer at Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty since April 2015, having previously worked at the BBC as a broadcast journalist from April 2014 to April 2015, and as a BBC Monitoring journalist from August 2013 to April 2014. Hooman began a career in journalism as a reporter for Global Voices Online from October 2012 to August 2013 and has experience as a freelance journalist for Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty from June 2011 to July 2013. In addition, Hooman served as a media consultant, writer, and researcher for the Arseh Sevom Civil Society Organization from August 2011 to January 2012. Hooman holds a Master of Arts in Media and Communication Studies with a concentration in Global Journalism from Örebro University, a Master of Arts in Translation Studies from Allameh Tabataba'i University, and a Bachelor of Arts in English Language and Literature from the University of Tehran.
