Katharina Sophia Volz, PhD, is the Founder and Executive Chairman of the Board, as well as the CEO of OccamzRazor, where efforts focus on accelerating treatments for Parkinson’s disease since January 2016. Prior to this, Katharina was a Ph.D. student and CIRM fellow at Stanford University from October 2012 to May 2015, where significant research involved pioneering studies in Stem Cell Biology and Regenerative Medicine, including the discovery of progenitor cells for coronary arteries. Additional research experience includes fellowships at Howard Hughes Medical Institute and various prestigious institutions, contributing to projects related to gene expression in adipose tissues and the origins of cardiac fibroblasts. Katharina earned a Doctor of Philosophy degree from Stanford University School of Medicine in 2015, a B.Sc. in Molecular Biology from the University of Graz, and was awarded an Abitur from Biotechnology Gymnasium Valckenburgschule Ulm.
