Derek Paulson has a diverse and extensive work experience. Derek is currently working as a Senior Finance and Strategy Manager at Rad Power Bikes since October 2022. Prior to this, they worked as an Associate Finance Manager at PepsiCo from July 2021 to October 2022.
Derek also has experience in the startup world, serving as the Chief Operating Officer (COO) at Recoverly. During their time there from January 2021 to January 2022, they were responsible for building the startup from its initial concept to product launch and user testing phase. Derek incorporated customer feedback to develop a minimum viable product and worked with physical therapists to onboard and utilize the app with more than 20 patients.
Before joining Recoverly, Derek gained valuable experience as a Strategic Finance MBA Intern at PepsiCo in 2020. Derek also worked at Honeywell for several years, starting as an Associate Financial Analyst at LDS Church Information and Communication Services from April 2013 to May 2015. Derek then moved on to Honeywell, starting as a Financial Analyst Intern in June 2014. Derek later took on roles such as Financial Analyst - Manufacturing Controllership from May 2015 to August 2016 and Senior Financial Analyst from February 2018 to August 2019. In the latter role, they were responsible for cost budget proposals, variance analysis, financial and operational metrics analysis, and forecasting.
Aside from their professional roles, Derek has also worked as a Training Resource Center Supervisor and Spanish Teacher at the Missionary Training Center from January 2013 to July 2013 and October 2011 to January 2013, respectively.
Overall, Derek Paulson has demonstrated a strong background in finance and strategy, with experience in various industries including e-bikes, food and beverage, startup, and manufacturing.
Derek Paulson obtained their Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Corporate Finance from Brigham Young University, where they attended from 2008 to 2015. Derek then pursued further education at Northwestern University - Kellogg School of Management, from 2019 to 2021, obtaining a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree with a focus on Marketing.
