Sarangan Selvarasa has a diverse range of work experience in the field of engineering. Sarangan started their career in 2013 as a Civil Engineer at Sanken Constructions (Pvt) Ltd. After two years, they moved on to ENG SENG LEE CONSTRUCTION CO (PTE) LTD, where they continued working as a Civil Engineer for three years. In 2018, they joined Presscrete Engineering Pte Ltd as a Senior Project Engineer. After a year, they transitioned to BRK International pte ltd. as a Resident Engineer, where they worked until 2020. Currently, Sarangan is working as a Project Coordinator-Municipal at R.V. Anderson Associates Limited, starting from June 2020.

Sarangan Selvarasa attended Hartley College from 1998 to 2006, but did not earn a degree or pursue any specific field of study during this time. Following that, from 2008 to 2013, Sarangan attended the University of Moratuwa and obtained a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering. Finally, they pursued further education and completed a Master's degree in Civil Engineering from Nanyang Technological University Singapore between 2016 and 2018.
