Austin Bender has a diverse work experience in various industries. Austin started their career as a Student Telethon Ambassador for Environmental and Water Resources Engineering at the University of Guelph in 2014. Austin also worked as a Construction Laborer at Nith Valley Construction (2008) Ltd in 2014 and 2015.
In 2016, Austin had two research assistant roles. Austin worked as a Photo-voltaic Land-use Research Assistant at the University of Guelph, focusing on solar development implications in Ontario. Austin also worked as a Guelph Pilot Facility Operator (Co-op) at GE Water & Process Technologies, gaining knowledge in waste-water treatment technologies.
Austin continued their career in the environmental field as a Process Specialist (Co-op) at Environmental & Power Solutions Inc. from 2017 to 2018. Austin then took on a role as a Research Assistant at the University of Guelph, where they worked under Dr. Ed McBean to find more effective methods of urine collection, storage, and treatment for use on farms in developing countries.
Currently, Austin is working as a Project Designer at R.V. Anderson Associates Limited, starting in 2022.
Austin Bender has a Bachelor's Degree in Environmental Engineering [Co-op], which they obtained from the University of Guelph. Austin attended the university from 2013 to 2018. Prior to that, they completed their high school education at Waterloo Oxford District Secondary School from 2009 to 2013.
In addition to their academic qualifications, Austin has obtained several certifications. In November 2019, they obtained the Working at Heights Certification from the Worksite Safety Compliance Centre. In October 2019, they obtained the City of Greater Sudbury EHS Rules - Service Contracts certification from NORCAT. In April 2014, they obtained the WHIMS certification from Nith Valley Construction (2008) Ltd. Austin also holds a Personal Watercraft Operators Licence, although the institution and date of obtaining this certificate is unknown.
