Ian O'Hara has extensive experience in academia and industry, currently serving as Deputy Dean and Principal Research Fellow at Queensland University of Technology since October 2006. In addition to these roles, Ian O'Hara has been the Queensland Biofutures Industry Envoy with the Department of State Development, Infrastructure, Local Government and Planning since November 2016. Prior to this, Ian O'Hara held the position of Senior Executive Officer at the Australian Sugar Milling Council from October 2004 to October 2006, and worked at Mackay Sugar Cooperative Assn Ltd from March 1991 to October 2004, progressing through various roles including Production Manager, Production Superintendent, and Shift Supervisor/Technical Officer.
