Yeyue Chen

Founder & CEO at Quick Flash Technologies

Yeyue Chen has had a varied and successful career since 2013. Yeyue began their professional experience as a Teaching Assistant for Introduction to Optics at the University of Rochester in 2013. In 2014, they were an Opto-mechanical Research Assistance at the same university. In 2015, they founded and operated Teamond, LLC., a start-up company that managed take-out orders and delivered food and drinks prepared by local restaurants. At the same time, they were a Circuits and Micro-controllers Lab Assistant at the University of Rochester. In 2016, they were an Application Engineer Intern at Benewake CO., LTD, responsible for the company's market development and product demonstration. In 2017, they were the Founder & CEO of Quick Flash Technologies, where they developed Electrochromic (EC) technologies and smart glasses that can change transparency quickly and actively, as well as saved 20% of energy used for air conditioning and lightening when applied to windows at commercial places. Yeyue also partnered with Sunny Optical Technology to initiate a capstone project in the M. At Sunny Optical Technology (Group) Co. Ltd., they were an Optical Design Intern, where they analyzed Spatial Frequency Response (SFR) and Lateral Chromatic Aberration (LCA) from simple slanted-edge images, optimized the image testing process of cell phone camera module by using polarizers, and forged a fellowship with University of Rochester as the first year's Sunny Fellow Student.

Yeyue Chen began their educational journey at the University of Rochester, where they obtained a Bachelor of Science (BS) in Optical Engineering from 2012 to 2016. Yeyue then participated in the Kauffman Entrepreneurial Year (KEY) Scholars Program at the University of Rochester from 2015 to 2017, focusing on Entrepreneurship/Entrepreneurial Studies. Finally, Yeyue Chen earned a Master of Engineering (MEng) in Industrial Engineering & Operations Research from UC Berkeley College of Engineering in 2017-2018.
