Jiayi(Jerry) Cheng has a diverse work experience. Jiayi(Jerry) began their career in 2012 as a Research Assistant at Tsinghua University, followed by an Internship at Allrising (Beijing) Technology Co. Ltd. In 2015, they started working as a Research Assistant and Teaching Assistant at the University of British Columbia Electrical and Computer Engineering. In 2016, they took on an additional role as a Teaching Assistant at the University of British Columbia. In 2018, they began working as a Software Developer at The Sky Guys. In 2019, they held three roles: Senior Research Software Engineer and Data Engineer at Quartic.ai, and Machine Learning Engineer at QINDOM.

Jiayi (Jerry) Cheng began their educational journey in 2008 when they earned a Bachelor of Engineering (B.E.) in Automation from Beihang University. Jiayi(Jerry) then went on to earn a Master of Science (M.S.) in Mechanical Engineering from Tsinghua University in 2012. Finally, they completed a Master of Applied Science (M.A.Sc.) in Electrical and Computer Engineering from UBC in 2017.
